- 2. A 5% relaxation in marks is applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories.

2. Admission Process (Without NET)
- 1. Candidates who do not have NET/SLET must qualify for the PhD Entrance Examination conducted by the respective university.
- 2. The PhD Entrance Exam is usually conducted twice a year, in January and July.
- 3. The entrance examination syllabus typically includes subjects like Research Methodology, Subject-Specific Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, and General Aptitude.
- 4. Universities may follow an online or offline mode for the entrance exam, depending on their admission policies.
- 5. A minimum qualifying score is required in the entrance exam to proceed to the next stage of selection.
- 6. Shortlisted candidates may be required to appear for an interview or written assessment, which evaluates their research aptitude, statement of purpose (SOP), and subject expertise.
3. PhD Duration
- The minimum duration of the PhD program is 3 years.
- The maximum duration allowed is 5 years, with no extensions beyond this period.
- Candidates with an MPhil degree are eligible for a 1-year exemption, reducing the minimum duration.
4. Tuition Fees
The annual tuition fees range from ₹9,000 to ₹25,000, depending on the university and discipline.
